I love my sleep, but there are some occasions that require me to stay up! The Emmys are most certainly one of those times, if for nothing more than the spectacular gowns that float down the red carpet on some of the most fabulous famous bodies. So I did a run down of The Oscars fashion and was such a hit I thought I would do the same for the Emmys 2013. So here is my run down of the Emmys 2013 fashion hits.
First up, blue seemed to be one of the colours of the night, from Zooey Deschanel in the most stunning ice blue J. Mendel silk with a structured bow and box clutch bag. Then there is the most beautiful of the Girls girls Allison Williams, in electric blue Ralph Lauren, the most simple of gowns with the most fabulous impact, the juxtaposition of the cool blue against her pale skin and auburn hair.
Let’s all just take a moment to stand mouth open in awe at just how incredible Tina Fey is! Crazy smart, wicked funny and hot as hell, especially in this Narciso Rodriguez body con electric blue number. Finally on the blue scale there is Giulianna Rancic in a strapless Mikeal D fish tail gown. Nothing says Black Tie Red Carpet glamour than exceptional black get ups. Starting with Lena Headly in this sheer lace panaled delight which I am sure will get slaughtered in the media but I adore, as can be said for Jane Lynch and this YSL inspired tuxedo. Then there is Amy Poehler and Sarah Silverman, two women who I both lust over and wish that we could be best friends. The opposite end of the scale is blush, gentle soft shades, Claire Danes in Armani Prive, January Jones in laser cut Givenchy, Kerry Washington in Marchesa floral sheer delight, and last of all and my favourite of the blush gowns is Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein no one does sleek silhouettes like Calvin. I am sure that non of the ladies indulged in chocolate before hitting the carpet, however some of them did swath themselves in chocolate box shades. Carrie Underwood looks like a Disney princess in cadburys purple, Romona Keveza and some serious diamonds, Sarah Hyland in Carolina Herrera layed lace in emerald, Heidi Klum in the most sensational Versace and finally geek chic Mayim Bialik in Nikkah sheer emerald fish tail. Finally we have these fabulous girls, who took on the red carpet and won! Kelly Osbourne in the most elegant Jenny Packham dress well if its good enough for real royalty then its good enough for Hollywood royalty. Linda Cardellini in merlot Donna Karen ruffles, Sofia Vergara in the most hugging of body con dresses from Vera Wang and finally in honour of Downtown Abbey being back on our screens there is Michelle Dockery in Prada. My look of the night is a tie between Rose Byrne and her blush perfection and Allison Williams in Ralph Lauren. So who else stayed up and watched….just me?
